This term we have been learning about rockets, and how to make rockets out of soft bottles. If a rocket has less mass it will go higher and further, but if the rocket has a lot of mass the rocket will not go higher or further. We have been learning about rockets not with our teachers but with a real life scientist! We also learnt about how to keep safe. Here are some of the tips to be safe with a rocket: 

1. do not go over 60 PSI because it might explode!

2. do not launch the rocket when it is about to launch because it might hit your face!

3. wear a hi-vis vest and safety googles 

My favourite part was when we launched our rocket, made paper planes and making our rockets. 

Something I found challenging was when we had to decide who going to hold what.

Would I like to do this again? yes 

Should other people get a chance to do this? yes

What is way finding navigation?

Way finding navigation  is a way to use stars, the sun, the wind, looking at the position of the sun or moon, observing the floating debris and the birds and some people use a star compass.

They use their hand to find their way to their NEW island or home. They do not need to know all the stars but the navigators just need to know the important stars. When navigators know one star they know where all the other stars are. 

How do they find stars in the night sky without instruments?

Navigators do not use modern instruments. The navigators memorise the star compass. They use their hands to find their way. They know the most important stars. 

What is Matariki and how do you recognize it? 

Matariki is  a constellation, a cluster of stars. You can recognize matariki because it is in a group of stars. 

What I enjoyed... 

I enjoyed the painting, because I liked how we had to draw a wave.

What I found challenging...

I found challenging how we had to write about something that has to do with matariki in our inquiry book.

Exquisite sentence

Yesterday we learnt how to make a sentence. Here is my favourite sentence:

Earth was made by 8  particles of other planets that were old materials in space that came together and made it. Thank you for reading my sentence.

song maker

Hola,

                                                                                                                                                                       On the 20th of May me and some other seniors went to Toolkit's  and then when it was session 2 I went to musiclabs and if you guys don't know what but it's a app and it has these games on it and I chose to do song maker and song maker is like this thing on musiclab and you have to press anything and it will make a piano sound except for the bottom. On the bottom you will see little dots and if you press the top dot it will make a drum sound and the bottom dot it will be a circle and it will make a really deep drum sound and it might hurt your ears. And this is a picture of what it looks like and if you don't want a thingy there you can press it again and  then if you want to you listen to it.  

How to remove your background

Today me and some other people from this school  went to Owairaka school and some presented and some just tried out some new stuff like this thing right down here, this is how to change your background but not with color like on google slide or anything on drive that you can search the web. How you do it is you find some pictures you do something before this but I forgot any ways and then you just write on it and done and that is basically it so it is really easy oh and if you really want to do it you can ask a teacher.

What I found challenging was when you had to do the thing that I forgot and I still do not remember.

What I enjoyed was when I put the pictures on.

The reason why I put a horse, puppie and a baby cat because these are all my favourite animals.

This term Paterson class have been looking at ¨belonging¨. As part of  our t-shaped literacy we have been looking at autobiographies and other people´s stories.

We have written our own autobiographies and published these into book creator. Below is my published book. Please feel free to leave me a comment if you enjoyed reading it!

What I enjoyed about this task was that we could add pictures.

I found this challenging how that how we had to make the pictures big or small so I actually liked and did not like adding pictures.
